My go-to grocery store products (that I recommend all the time)

I know every practitioner has their favorite brands - the ones they bring up over and over again because they actually make life easier and support client’s results.

These are some of my current favorites. Most can be found at health-focused grocery stores (Whole Foods, Sprouts, co-ops) or online, but I’m seeing more of them pop up at regular grocery stores too!

When protein is the hardest part

If you’re struggling to hit protein, these are some client faves:

  • Egglife tortillas
A game-changer for quick protein. Made from egg whites & SO good - they taste like crepes.
My go-tos (I eat them cold, straight out of the fridge):
    • Everything Bagel - organic turkey slices + pesto
    • Cinnamon - peanut butter + ½ sliced banana
  • Grass Fed Beef Snack Sticks from Paleovalley
Online only, but worth it. They are fermented which preserves them, and they aren’t insanely dry like so many other meat sticks.
  • IQBAR
A sweeter bar option with clean ingredients that you can find at many grocery stores.
  • Equip Prime Protein- beef protein powder
My favorite non-dairy protein - mixes well and doesn’t taste chalky.
Use code TABLETOCRAVE for 15% off your first order.

If iron tends to run low

This is one of my favorite food-based strategies:

  • Force of Nature Ancestral blend ground meat & meatballs
These blends include liver (a very high-dense iron source).
Easy way to boost iron without going full liver-and-onions.
    Bonus: also supports liver health.

For liver + detox support

(aka… most people need this. Especially my acne clients!)

  • Wildbrine beet kraut
Beets support liver pathways, and you’re getting probiotics at the same time.

For sweet cravings

  • Hu chocolate
  • Berries with coconut manna
  • Simple Mills cookies (I have to be careful with these - SO GOOD)

Gluten-free swaps that don’t taste sad

  • Jovial Foods brown rice pasta
    Especially the egg noodles.
  • Base Culture bread
Clean ingredients, stays frozen, lasts forever.
  • Siete tortillas
Super versatile. Almond flour is my favorite - and Costco sells giant packs.

If you need help drinking more water

For the munchies & movie night

  • Lesser Evil popcorn

PLEASE - if you do one thing after reading this: stop eating microwave popcorn.

Many bags still use non-stick coatings linked to PFAS. Some brands claim they’ve removed them… but you don’t actually know what they’re replacing them with. Brands like Lesser Evil = infinitely better.

Have you tried any of these before?! Anything else you think I missed?

In health,

-Daina

This is one of those questions I get ALL the time from clients. Because yes… organic is more expensive. And no… it doesn’t automatically make food “perfect.” But when you actually look at the research, there ARE some clear differences that matter - especially if you’re working on gut health, hormones, skin, or reducing your overall toxic load. I’ve started running toxin testing on clients, and I often see environmental chemicals like pesticides elevated, even for those who live relatively...

We just got back from a trip to Mexico, and one of my favorite parts of traveling to tropical places is how much time we spend outside. The only time we’re NOT outside is when we’re sleeping. It feels SO good. And yes - part of that is the mental/spiritual side of being in nature… but it’s also doing a lot more for your body than most people realize… including your blood sugar. Why sunlight is good for blood sugar A study published in the Journal of Biophotonics looked at what happens when...

I GOT QUOTED IN AN ARTICLE 😎 And it brings up something bigger than just one brand. You may have seen the recent conversation around Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dunkin'. The question RFK Jr. raised was simple: Are ultra-sugary coffee drinks actually appropriate for teenagers? And instead of having a grounded, nutrition-based conversation, the response quickly turned into defending the brand. Let’s take the politics out of it for a second… This isn’t about who said it - it’s about whether it’s...
