I recently completed a continuing education toxin training that really changed how I see a LOT of what's happening with my clients. We went deep into lab interpretation, detox protocol sequencing, and how to navigate complex cases… and I came out of it feeling SO much more prepared to actually help people who have tried it all. For some clients, "eat more protein and drink more water" can work wonders - but for most people who come to me, we need to dig SO much deeper. How do you know if toxins are an issue? Here's the thing about toxins that most people don't realize… Your body is dealing with them CONSTANTLY. This includes pesticides on your food, heavy metals in your water and cookware, mold in buildings you've lived or worked in, VOCs off-gassing from your furniture and cleaning products… It's A LOT. And when your detox pathways can't keep up, the burden accumulates and starts to cause issues. Here are some ways toxins can show up as symptoms:
If you've been doing "all the right things" and still not getting results... toxin burden is worth looking at! Sam’s Total Tox ResultsSo. Let's talk about my hubby Sam. I was DYING to run the Total Tox on myself - it tests mycotoxins (mold), heavy metals, and a full panel of environmental chemicals all via urine. But being pregnant and planning to breastfeed, it didn't make sense to start digging up toxins when I can't do anything about them anytime soon. Instead, I ran it on my husband. I figured if Sam had mold in his results, that would be a big clue that we have a mold issue in our home. And I wanted to see how we were actually doing with our everyday environmental exposures - pesticides, heavy metals, chemicals, etc. We got his results back. I even hopped on a call with the lab to make sure I was interpreting everything correctly… And they called him a unicorn. Ha! They rarely see so few toxins pop up. His detox pathways are likely functioning really well, we’re doing a really good job avoiding daily toxins, so his overall toxin burden came back super low. Here's what his results looked like: What do typical results look like?Next week, I'm going to talk about the main things we do in our home and daily life to keep results looking like his. For comparison - check out the contrast below. These are the types of results I've been seeing with clients lately, who are not doing all the the things we focus on in our home (and of course, that’s what I work on implementing with my clients!). Think a mold-infested, toxin-overloaded Christmas tree: CLIENT EXAMPLE 1 CLIENT EXAMPLE 2 More on how to avoid toxins in your life next week :) In health, -Daina tabletocrave.com Forward this email to anyone who would benefit 💌 Forwarded this email? Still pregnant as I write this... it's Tuesday 6/23 and baby is now over a week late, which feels like the universe giving me a lesson to surrender! Baby will come when baby is ready, and all I can do is let go and trust the timing... so we'll see when this little one decides to make an appearance! Last weekend we celebrated a small Blessingway. In case you've never heard of one, a Blessingway is a sacred ceremony traditionally practiced by the Navajo people to honor and support a woman as...
So this is what I've been doing to my drinking water every day... yup, setting it out in the sun. It sounds SO ridiculous and woo-woo, I know. But what the sun is actually doing is helping structure my water. Let’s talk about what the heck that means! What is structured water? The water inside your cells isn't the same as the water coming out of your tap. In your body, water exists in a gel-like state called structured water (you might also hear it called EZ, or exclusion zone water). The...
I had a client tell me recently that she eats tons of fiber every day... and then when I asked her to track her food journal, it was very eye-opening. The real number came out somewhere between 4 and 6 grams daily (she was shooting for at least 25 grams). Yikes. This happens all the time! Most of us assume that if we're having a salad most days, we're reaching our fiber goals (I used to think this, too!). But the reality is that something like a Caesar salad gets you to about 2 grams of...
