Some recent home upgrades I’m actually loving (and use daily)

Here’s some practical stuff I've tested in real life and have loved using!

Large stone dish drying mat

Ok, I have to start with this one because it's my favorite new thing in our home right now. I was so over dish towels - especially after one too many moldy ones - and those synthetic pads are gross too. And traditional drying racks always end up slimy.

This stone mat has been used heavily for five months and I'm still loving it! It looks sleek on the counter, drains fast, dries fast, and zero mold situations. Just make sure to place the little legs strategically to avoid warping - ours is doing fine, but seems like a lot of people in the reviews complained about this.

I also got a new dish rack to place on top so we can dry dishes, but ditched the drainage tray that came with it. I like that it has little hooks for cups - we use this to dry our Stasher Bags!

Silicone freezer trays for soups

I've been wanting a better single-portion freezing option for soups and stews for a while, and now with postpartum food prep on my mind, these seemed like a good addition. They pop out cleanly, stack easily, and make meal prep manageable.

ATTITUDE body lotion

My skin isn't dry and itchy anymore (finally!), but I still do a daily lotion - and this one has been awesome. It smells incredible and it's super clean, EWG verified and everything. Obviously I went with pear & amber because… amber is the gold of Lithuania, sooo I really had no choice.

Cork plant coasters & saucers

After damaging way too many windowsills, I finally committed to getting coasters under all our plants. This set has a good size variety, which is great when you have a mix of pots.

Collapsible cooler bag

This was a great on our Costa Rica trip - we were Airbnb hopping the whole time and had food to haul from place to place. It packs down small enough to throw in a suitcase, but it's actually good quality, not flimsy. Now it’ll be helpful for road trips and picnics… and future trips!

Plastic Pyrex replacement lids

So many of our Pyrex lids had cracked or warped over time - this replacement pack was great without having to rebuy the glass containers.

Still pregnant as I write this... it's Tuesday 6/23 and baby is now over a week late, which feels like the universe giving me a lesson to surrender! Baby will come when baby is ready, and all I can do is let go and trust the timing... so we'll see when this little one decides to make an appearance! Last weekend we celebrated a small Blessingway. In case you've never heard of one, a Blessingway is a sacred ceremony traditionally practiced by the Navajo people to honor and support a woman as...

So this is what I've been doing to my drinking water every day... yup, setting it out in the sun. It sounds SO ridiculous and woo-woo, I know. But what the sun is actually doing is helping structure my water. Let’s talk about what the heck that means! What is structured water? The water inside your cells isn't the same as the water coming out of your tap. In your body, water exists in a gel-like state called structured water (you might also hear it called EZ, or exclusion zone water). The...

I had a client tell me recently that she eats tons of fiber every day... and then when I asked her to track her food journal, it was very eye-opening. The real number came out somewhere between 4 and 6 grams daily (she was shooting for at least 25 grams). Yikes. This happens all the time! Most of us assume that if we're having a salad most days, we're reaching our fiber goals (I used to think this, too!). But the reality is that something like a Caesar salad gets you to about 2 grams of...
