The real reason I’m not taking clients until the fall… is because I’m pregnant! I had only been accepting new clients with a January start date because baby is coming in June, and I wanted to make sure I could fully support everyone I was working with through their programs. I’m planning to open up spots again in the fall - so stay tuned! Honestly, I’ve been really lucky. Pregnancy has felt good. My energy has been steady, no nausea, I’ve been able to keep lifting, traveling, and maintaining a pretty normal routine. We went to Costa Rica in February, and had our babymoon in Mexico in March... so grateful that I am feeling so good while pregnant! Being on the other side of itOne of the most interesting parts of this experience has been being on the other side of it. I work with a lot of fertility clients - and it’s different when you’re the one actually implementing everything. I started preparing my body months before we even tried to conceive. That meant being intentional about nutrient status, supporting detox pathways, focusing on blood sugar balance, getting blood labs tested, and prioritizing high-quality, nutrient-dense foods. And yup - I had my husband on a light plan too. Male health matters more than most people realize when it comes to fertility outcomes! If you’re thinking about pregnancy (now or eventually), I highly recommend Real Food for Fertility by Lily Nichols. It’s one of the few resources that actually gets the nutrition right. A lot of conventional advice is still very outdated when it comes to what the body truly needs during this phase. Continuing living my life as usualWhat made the biggest difference for me is that once I got pregnant… nothing felt stressful or restrictive. I was already eating in a way that supported pregnancy. I didn’t have to overhaul my diet, question every food, or feel like I was suddenly doing something completely different. It was just a continuation of what my body was already used to. From a functional perspective, this is really the goal: you don’t “switch into” a pregnancy diet. You build a body that’s already supported, nourished, and resilient - so pregnancy feels like a natural extension, not a total shock to the system (but obviously, it’s still a shock… and even the healthiest diet might not lead to an easy pregnancy!). That’s something I see play out with clients over and over again. Here are a couple of messages I’ve received from clients after working together on their fertility: From Sara: “I can't believe I'm typing this right now...but I took 4 pregnancy tests yesterday that were all positive!!! I am partly in disbelief...since I only just got my IUD out 6 weeks ago, but it's all making sense with some of the symptoms I have been experiencing. I want to thank you SO much, because I really do believe that all of the incredible healing that I've been doing with your guidance and support over the past ~4ish months has allowed me to get pregnant so quickly, because my body is healthier than ever before. I'm forever grateful. “ From MJ: “I owe you a huge thank you. I truly don’t believe my pregnancy and breastfeeding journey would be what it is without your help. I was at my healthiest when I got pregnant and had an easy recovery from my c section. Breastfeeding has been so smooth compared to what I hear most people experience. My daughter has already gained 7 (!!) pounds in 4 months and is so healthy. I really credit all this to my health and all the changes I made when working with you! My eating isn’t perfect but it’s the best it’s ever been. So THANK YOU!” AHHH, makes me so happy! If this is something you’re thinking about - whether you’re actively trying or just want to be proactive - this is exactly the kind of work I’ll be focusing on more when I reopen spots in the fall. I had a client ask me what the difference is between probiotics and prebiotics - so let’s talk about it! Many people are popping a probiotic pill every day , and not really thinking much more about it. But here's what's actually happening inside your gut - your probiotic doesn't have much to work with if you're not feeding it. That's where PREbiotics come in. And nope, a trendy soda with "prebiotic fiber" on the label doesn't count (keep reading to learn more…). What's the difference,...
Ok, so a reel popped up on my feed recently making fun of people who still use wired earphones. And surprise surprise…. I'm one of those people Here's why - I'm not here to tell you to throw your AirPods in the trash. But I AM here to tell you that the "they're totally safe" crowd is way more confident than the science actually allows them to be right now. What AirPods actually emit Like all wireless devices, AirPods emit radiofrequency (RF) radiation - the same category as Wi-Fi routers and...
Last weekend, we flew to Boise for a family wedding - so fun! Being 7.5 months pregnant at a wedding is a whole new experience and I’m into it. We danced, we celebrated, we went to a bar (!), and I felt AMAZING the next morning. We stayed at an Airbnb, and were on a mission from the second we walked in… It was one of those places where the "fresh" smell of synthetic fragrances was intense. We went room to room hunting down every wall plug-in and reed diffuser we could find, placed them all...
