🌴Travel snacks for solo business retreat in Mexico? Yes please.

I just got back from 8 days in San Pancho, Mexico and it was exactly what I needed.

My husband was in Morocco for a work trip, so I figured… why not take one of my own? I had been to San Pancho a few years ago with friends and loved the vibe - small, beachy, relaxed, and easy to get around. Plus, I needed to fly Southwest to hit the points for our companion pass (which we now officially have!).

It ended up being the perfect space to unplug from normal routines and think big picture - helloooo Q2 and 2025 planning.

Here’s what my days looked like:

  • Working from cute coworking spots and cafes
  • Morning hikes and long beach walks
  • Yoga classes, and a sound healing + acupuncture session (so cool!)
  • Reading (blew through two books - I just started the Throne of Glass series... anyone else?!)
  • Eating at a bunch of amazing restaurants

That said, I didn’t want to eat out for every single meal. So I packed some of my favorite travel snacks to keep things flexible and budget-friendly.

Here’s what I brought:

  • Kreatures of Habit instant oatmeal - 30g of protein per packet. I used to hate the flavor and texture, but it’s grown on me. I don’t eat these at home, but they’re perfect when you don’t have a kitchen and want a high-protein breakfast.
  • Kroma bone broth packets - new obsession. Warm, nourishing, and super easy to make - just add hot water.
  • Paleovalley meat sticks - they make beef, venison, pork, and chicken (I think the chicken texture is SO gross, but maybe that’s just me?) These are my go-to travel protein.
  • Paleovalley Superfood Bars - good texture and ingredients. Not too sweet.
  • Thrive Market collagen stick packs - easy to mix into coffee (and I even asked restaurants to add it to my smoothie!)
  • Green olives - salty, satisfying, and surprisingly great as a travel snack.
  • Electrolyte Stix - I love that these have creatine in them, so I could keep that up while traveling. I prefer the orange flavor.
  • LMNT - watermelon is my favorite! I usually drank one of these by the pool to stay hydrated.

It felt so good to give myself space to think, plan, and reset. Highly recommend a solo retreat like this if you can swing it - even if it’s just for a weekend!

Have you ever taken a solo trip to plan or recharge?

In health,

If you ever feel like your brain won’t shut off at night… or you wake up groggy no matter how early you go to bed… this one’s for you. There’s a simple framework called the 10-3-2-1-0 Sleep Rule that can seriously improve the quality of your sleep - without supplements or gadgets. It’s one of those routines that sounds kind of obvious when you hear it, but putting it into practice makes a HUGE difference. Let’s break it down - 10 hours before bed – no more caffeine Even if you don’t feel...

Even though the IDEA of drinking enough water should be simple… in the middle of a busy day, it’s easy to forget. Are they really that bad? Let’s break it down. Microplastics = Macroproblem Microplastics are everywhere - in our food, water, air, clothing, and yep, even in our tea. And they don’t just pass through the body...
